So, the state of me of the past month or so. It has been a bitch and a half and I've only really felt comfortable now to post about it.

I'm keeping it all behind an lj-cut 'cause this might get lengthy and I don't wont to overload your friends pages. lol

So, the first thing of owning a cat: REMEMBER TO GET THE MEDICINE FILLED ON TIME!!!!!

This did not applyt to me this time, my cat has a couple of health issues, but he's pretty healthy for the most part. One of the medicines I get him is for his lungs, he has a slight fluid build-up and the medicine is breaking it up, providing I don't find him trying to hack half the pill up. I swear, he's slipping them under his tongue or something and coughing them up somewhere. I also give him his heart medicine which is in liquid form and a bit easier to shove down his throat.

Anyhoo, I find I'm done too 2 half pills and I'm like, crap. I thought I had just ordered some, apparently not. I also decided this was a great time to order his heart medicine too, because while I'm good for another week or so, I'm getting him his pills, so why not the heart medicine? So I call the vet's office and ask to order some more, but the Doctor I like, let's call him Doctor S, had put a note in Kyro's (that's my cat's name) file that they wanted to draw some blood from him. Double crap. Now another thing you should know is that Kyro has a heart murmor. The blood from his heart doesn't pump blood out that well so I've been advised not to stress him out. (This has been going on for a year or so now)

All right, I ask when can I schedule the appt, but I had to explain about the heart condition and they (the assistants or receptionists) say I should wait for the doctor to give me a call back to discuss this. Okay, I'm fine with that. I give my cell number and end the convo. I would like to point out this happened at 830 in the morning.

1:30 pm rolls around. I've had lunch and am now on my second break. I worked a morning shift this happened, which was 7:30 - 3:30. So, I phone and just inquire what's going on. I get told the Doctor isn't in until 2pm. wtf? But it's awesome cool Doctor S, I'm okay with that. Only to get told that Doctor S isn't in today and I'm dealing with the more stupid doctor. Let's call him Doctor A for Asshat.

Fine.

I let them know I'm off at 330, is it possible for the Doctor to call me then? I get a Yep and my file will be shoved into his hands as soon as he gets in. Ok.

3:30 rolls around, no phone call. Doctor A is an idiot and asshat.

All I want to do is make the appt so I can get the medicine for my cat. Because the way it was implied was I just had to have this appointment before anything. Would be nice to talk to the Doctor to find out if this is true or not.

So, I ask if Doctor A can now phone me after 4 as that's when I'll get home. Cue me driving home. Cue my cell phone going off at 3:45. Cue growling in car.

By now, I'm one of those customers. One of those customers you don't want to deal with.

I get home and call Doctor A back. I find out I can get the medicine before the test, he'll order it for me. So I explain I'm out of the pills and I can pick those up at the Vet's Office, because it's right by my work. That's fine. I also explain I need more of the heart medicine, which is a bit more tricky, because a phamecutical makes it and they need a couple days in advance to make it and then send it to my house. Ok, that's fine, they can deliver the heart medicine to my house and I'll pick up the pills at the Vet's Office.

All right, everything is explained and he'll call me later to let me know what's going on with the medicine. Yay!

I should've known better.

I call at 7:30pm now, because I haven't recieved a phone call letting me know what's what, so I end up phoning.

It's about 730 at night and still no phone call. The vet's office is open for another hour and a half. I phone to try and find out what's going on. He's ordered the medicine and I'm told the lung medicine will be delivered with the heart medicine to my house. *headdesk*

I had to explain things again, very slowly and simply. "I pick up lung medicine from office. Heart medicine delivered to my house." This time the message get's through.

So the next day after work, I pick up the lung medicine from the Vet's Office and I get a phone call from my mom. Turns out the heart medicine was delivered to the house. Not in a couple of days as I was expecting. Good thing she had money to pay for it, but still. Seriously?

It all got solved, medicine was gotten but the entire thing just drained me and I was ready to scream.

More drama-rama ahead...read at your own risk!

So, a couple of days after the whole Doctor A fiasco, my desktop computer decided it didn't like me anymore and I got the DOS screen of death.

wtf?!?

Some sort of software issue I found out screwed up my boot configuration. Great, just great.

I bought the computer from Future Shop a couple of years ago and it's served me well. I phoned FS up to find out if I still had any warranty left and it turned out I did. 1 month left. O.o

So I explained the situation, they said bring the computer in. I complied and when I get there, they ran a diagnostic telling me they'd have to do a complete wipe and restore. So I get this package where they'll do a FULL restore and a FULL backup of my computer, with an anti-virus program. (please take note of the CAPS on FULL!)

Total: A little over $300, ouch. I know, but I thought it would be worth it and they threw in a 1TB external harddrive in to do the FULL backup. So hey, free external harddrive, can't argue with that.

I was also told it would be ready the next day, so I was happy about that.

Guess who got no phone call on Sunday. Me. :( I'm pretty understanding and figured they'd gotten busy with other customer's stuff as well as my own. I've worked retail, I know how things can pile up and whatnot - that's pretty understanding, right?

By the last break in my shift at work on Monday, still no phone call, so I end up phoning FS to get this runaround in Customer Service and it takes me 20 mins to get to a technition to find out what's going on with my computer.

It's not ready and won't be until Tues.

Grr. Argh.

Tuesday rolls around, I leave work and see a voice mail in my cell, it's FS and my computer is ready. Yay! So I head to FS to pick up my computer.

(please remember the words FULL restore and FUll backup)

I bring it home, hook it up and hit the button to start the computer. I get some sort of desktop background and only a few files on my desktop. wtf?!?

I frantically check the backup copy and my computer. They backed-up and restored about half of my computer. I have nothing in my windows file. None of my personal files in there.

You would think with the words FULL backup and FULL restore, they would mean the entire computer, right? Apparently not so in the words of Future Shop.

I call Future Shop, now known as Fail Shop, to find out they only backup and restore the user information and any files saved in there. I complain I was told I would be recieving a FULL backup and FULL restore and was misinformed about the entire process.

By now we're both arguing our points and I get told I can bring it in and they'll see if they can find the files I'm missing. If I was searching for an hour for these files, what makes them thing they can find them? I really don't want to bring it in, because they screwed up this much so far, what would happen now?

I get convinced to bring it in, they look, they can't find the files either. I could've told 'em that. And now they want to do a system recovery, but they want to keep my computer for another 4-5 days.

By this point, I'm tired, upset and very frustrated. I ended up crying, I didn't want to, tears just started to happen.

I grab my computer and say no thanks and get ready to leave.

Now the manager get's invovled, I sob my story to him and he apologizes profusely. I get a full reinbursement, keep the 1 TB external harddrive and they'll do a system recovery for free. But what they'll do is, clone my current harddrive into a new harddrive. Install the new harddrive into my computer and I can keep my computer while they try and do a system recovery.

I agree to that, 'cause I really want my files back.

I leave my harddrive there and take home my computer with it's cloned bro harddrive and it takes them a week and a half to get back to me. To be honest, I didn't call them back right away, 'cause I was worried if the system recovery didn't work and some personnal drama-rama happened.

To make a very, very long story short, system recovery didn't work, I didn't get my files back.

So, I've been slowly restoring programs and other stuff back on.

Future Shop is Fail Shop now and I'll never shop there again, or at least that store.

Yep, my drama soap opera life the past month or so.

Ugh, what a PITA.

Have you got a pet piller? It's a really nifty (and exceedingly cheap) little gadget that will shoot that pill far enough down the cat's throat that they can't cough it back up short of seriously vomiting. I swear by mine. Costs maybe $2.

Well, there are other tricks to getting old data off a formatted hard drive, but since you've already started installing other programs there's very little chance of you being able to pull much off. You might look for a program called "GetDataBack" You might get lucky, but I wouldn't expect a miracle.
