Being Human Canadian/US Remake

sparrow015So, everyone has heard about the remake of BBC's Being Human. I've heard about it, you've heard about it, we've all heard about it.
But I've been looking at a few articles (just because I've kinda put my head in the sand about the whole remake) and seen who've they've cast as Annie, Mitchell and George and it doesn't look half bad.
Blasphemous, I know. But it shows promise.
Not just because it's being filmed in Montreal, which is set in one of the oldest settled areas of Canada, but because of the way the actors look.
They look like Annie, Mitchell and George.
Mitchell is being played by Sam Witwer, who Smallville fans know as Davis Bloom. He looks like he can play a vampire and mean it.
George is being played by Sam Huntington, who was in Fanboys. He even looks a bit like George, all adorable and akward.
And then there's Annie, who is being played by Meaghan Rath who I think physically resembles BBC Annie the most.
Finally, we have Bishop who in the British version, we know as Hendricks. Played by the wonderful Mark Pellegrino who was in Lost and most recently Supernatural as Lucifer.
The show is written and executive produced by husband-and-wife duo Jeremy Carver (Waterfront, Supernatural) and Anna Fricke (Dawson’s Creek, Everwood). So, some good credentials there, especially with the Supernatural one, 'cause hey, the show is about ghosts, werewolves and vampires! :D
And when the show comes out, it will be broadcasted on Syfy, but here's the icing for any Canadian fans, it'll show on Space as well. \o/
So, while I absolutely love and adore the BBC version and look forward to Series 3, I'm kinda now looking forward to this Canadian/US version as well.
EDIT: The names I've heard for Annie, Mitchell and George in the new remake is: Annie = Molly, Mitchell = Aiden and George = Josh. I don't know if this is true or not, but it's one of the things I've seen floating around and on the wiki.

I have to admit the presence of Jeremy Carver makes me feel a little warmer toward the show, but I just hate the idea of a remake full stop.
We've been here too many times before, and it always ends in tears. Except Sanford & Son, apparently that worked (if you don't know, that was the US remake of Steptoe & Son). It always annoys me though, we here in the UK don't feel the need to remake US shows, we just air them, so why remake UK shows? Harrumph. /rant
