Job Status: So Far So Good

So, today at 4:30 pm central time, my term in the Road Safety and Driver Education & Training Department ends. I am sad for this, I loved this job, the people and just being here. It was the first job I loved in a very long time.

But!

I'm still in the same company come Monday, but in a different dept! This time the DVL. Driver Vehicle Licensing.

My duties shall include driving around the Driver Examiner as s/he tests the motorcyclist on their license. I basically follow the motorcyclist in a van.

So if you see a headline from Winnipeg, 'Driver and Driver Examiner End Up In Ditch, While Following Motorcyclist' - that'll be me. :D

The point is, I still have a job on Monday, the downside, it's only part-time. But that's okay! I was told they might have extra duties for me to do in the office and could get extra days. :D

But I shall report all on Monday.

As a side note, I am still fighting this stupid cold, but it is getting better.

Your new job actually sounds like fun - Do you get any points if you accidently run into the motorcyclist causing them to careen madly before falling over?

It's been nearly two weeks and i still feel like crap!

And I found out for the motorcyclist thing, while I chase them, I might have to run through some stop signs to keep up! I'm being encouraged to break the law in my job! lol

At least you are getting a new job right off, even if it's part time. I was laid off in 2001 and had a hard time finding a regular full time job for quite a while. I bounced between temporary positions for quite a while.

And if you really need the monies, maybe you could get a second part time job. (I have two part time jobs.)

I understand that! My second part time job is not so great. Well, I like the work (merchandising) but the overlords, uh... overbosses are very very picky. Not my boss, but more like my boss's boss's bosses.
