Music is my boyfriend: pick a number btwn 1 - 20093 and a character/pairing/word prompt and I'll take a stab at it. No promises but I shall do my best.

Try and keep it to a max of five prompts per comment. :)

(not unless they're pasted on)

The breach between the human and the fey had serious ramifications for the human world, but like it always had, humans adapted.

But it was a learning curve that was steep in places.

Mike hovered and tried not to look like he was hovering. "Is there anything i can do?" he asked for the fifth time in as many minutes.

Kevin sighed in frustration. "I don't know," he said through gritted teeth as he leaned against the basinm head bowed and shoulders hunched as another shiver rippled through him. "If I think of anything, I'll call, but Mike, please, give me a minute here."

Mike retreated to the main room. This was not how he'd planned on spending their hotel night. Kevin had woken early, complaining that his wings hurt, but they'd both just chalked it up to squeezing into Mike's bunk for a week.

But by the end of the show, Kevin was shivering, pale with pain. His wings looked dull and drab, a little tattered now there was no glitter coating them.

A call to the hotline set up for those with fairy blood had offered a likely cause: Kevin was molting. He could take tylenol for the pain, but apart from that, he just had to bear up as best he could.

"Mike!" Kevin called, and Mike almost tripped over his own feet, rushing back into the bathroom.

Kevin was naked, in the bathtub. The nurse said sometimes hot water helped slough off the old wings. He was braced with his head resting on his folded arms on the tiled wall. "What do you need?" he asked, coming closer.

"It's hanging there, I can feel it," Kevin whimpered. "But I can't quite...the angle's wrong. Can you..." He made a tugging gesture.

Mike screwed up his nose and his courage. Stripping off his clothes, he got into the shower and took gentle hold of Kevin's wings. Normally they felt delicate but strong, but now they just lay like parchment in his hands, dead and breakable. "Just tug," Kevin ordered.

It came away easily, fracturing like an egg. Kevin hissed, and Mike saw the new, baby-sized wing that had been pushing up and out, vibrant and new in its colour and covered in glitter.

The shell in his hand disintergrated in the spray. Mike took a deep breath and took hold of the next part of the wing.

Later, curled up in bed with Kevin settled on top of him, mindful of his tender shoulders, Mike hooked his chin on Kevin's shoulder and watched the new wings start to unfurl.

Glitter spread out around them on the bed like a halo.

there would totally be a fairy hotline! "Hi, yes, my toddler has started producing glitter?" "Oh yes, that's a normal reaction when theyre happy or excited..." "ANd he won't choke on it?"
